Lexus Granito(down 5.04%), Ashapura Minechem(down 2.24%), Oriental Trimex(down 1.96%), Aro Granite Industries(down 1.56%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 1.49%), NMDC Ltd(down 1.20%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.17%), MOIL(down 1.16%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.90%) and Coal India(down 0.47%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 17.8 points up at 18314.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 123.38 points at 62027.9.
Eicher Motors(up 6.49%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.97%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.79%), Axis Bank(up 1.64%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.2%), HDFC Bank(up 0.88%), Tata Motors(up 0.85%), State Bank of India(up 0.82%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.79%) and Bajaj Finance(up 0.76%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 3.83%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.86%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.74%), NTPC(down 2.56%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.69%), Tata Steel(down 1.66%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.45%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.24%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.19%) and Grasim Industries(down 1.14%) closed in the red.
