Kanpur: Voting for the second phase of the civic elections in Etawah started at 7am and till 6pm, 53.76% polling was recorded, said deputy district election officer

While Etawah Nagar Palika Parishad witnessed 49.86% voters turnout, Nagar Palika Parishad Bharthana 59.77% and Nagar Palika Jaswant Nagar 58.52% voting. Similarly, Nagar Panchayat Ekdil witnessed voters turnout of 65.36%, Lakhna Nagar Panchayat 67.15% and Nagar Panchayat Bakewar 69.14%.
Officials said that polling was held for the post of chairman of 3 Nagar Palika Parishad and 3 Nagar Panchayats and posts of corporators of 127 wards. In total 148 polling stations comprising 389 polling booths were raised.
The polling area was divided into 14 zones and 29 sectors. The DEO said, 141 polling booths of 57 polling centers were declared sensitive, 121 polling places of 48 polling centers were highly sensitive and 70 polling booths were placed in the super sensitive category. tnn
