One held for intimidating Mapusa judge
Panaji: Porvorim police have arrested one person in connection with the alleged criminal intimidation of a judge, Reina Fernandes.
In her complaint, Fernandes, a resident of Santa Cruz, Tiswadi, said that on Wednesday at the Mapusa JMFC court, a man — who is a litigant in a case pending before her court — threatened a clerk identified as Seema.
The man apparently said, “Tuka kitem te dakoita” (I will show you).
The complaint said that the litigant along with another man followed her in their car till Porvorim while she was on her way home in a car with her colleague.
The complaint said the men followed her with the intent to cause harm and criminally intimidate.
Porvorim PI Anant Gaonkar said Saito Lobo was arrested in the case and the court granted him bail.
Police said that Xavier Lobo, the brother of the accused, has got himself admitted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
