Ludhiana: Many agricultural development officers (ADOs) on Thursday protested against the state government after it transferred agriculture extension officers (AEOs) to the posts of ADO. The protestors claim that the government is violating norms, as the ADOs have different qualification requirements than that of AEOs.
Jaswinder Singh Sidhu, state president of Plant Doctor Services Association said, “There is no rule that a person appointed on a particular cadre can be transferred on posts of another cadre. But government is transferring or posting the AEOs on the notified posts of ADOs, ignoring existing rules which govern these cadres.”
Meanwhile, the AEOs supported the decision. tnn
