Two prisoners serving life imprisonment escape from Assam’s Silchar Central Jail

Two prisoners serving life imprisonment escaped from Silchar Central Jail in Assam’s Cachar district on May 12. Following the escape incident, Assam police launched a massive search operation to nab the prisoners. Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Cachar District Numal Mahatta visited the jail and took stock of the situation. Source: ANI
