Decomposed body of retired head constable recovered in UP

PILIBHIT: Police on Friday morning recovered a decomposed body of a retired head constable of UP police from his rented flat located in Awas Vikas colony under the jurisdiction of Pilibhit Kotwali police station.
Locals informed the police after a foul smell emanated from the house which was locked from the inside.
police had to scale the wall of the flat with the help of a ladder.
The body was found lying in the courtyard and has been sent for postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
SHO Naresh Tyagi said, “The deceased was identified as Mukesh Sharma (55) from Bulandshahr district. He had taken voluntary retirement on August 31 last year during his posting in Pilibhit. He was living alone in the rented accommodation after his wife died of Covid 19 in 2021.”
