Mumbai: On Saturdays in May, parts of Kurla to go dry

MUMBAI: Some parts of Khairani Road in Kurla's L ward will not receive water every Saturday till May 27, said the BMC. The water supply will be affected on Saturdays as the BMC will carry out work on fortifying the 1200mm diameter underground water channel between Tukaram bridge and Jungleshwar Mahadev temple on Khairani Road.
It will take 10 days for the work. While seven days' work has been completed in a phase-wise manner, the remaining work will take three consecutive days - from 1pm on Friday to 5am on Sunday. Hence, water will not be supplied on those Saturdays. BMC has urged local residents to use water sparingly and made an appeal to boil water every Sunday as a precaution.
