Youth kills father over land, held
Kanpur: A 24-year-old man was arrested almost ten days after he allegedly killed his father in a fight over property, police said on Wednesday. After committing the crime, he had filed a complaint against his neighbour, whom he didn’t get along well with. It was only later that he confessed to his crime and was held.
The accused, identified as Vinay Mishra, murdered his father Raju Mishra (58), while the latter was sleeping on a concrete platform outside their residence in Karbigwan locality under the limits of Narwal police station on April 29, said police.
The next morning, Raju’s body was found lying on the platform and his family members alerted the police who rushed to the spot. The body was sent for autopsy post preliminary investigation.
ACP Chakeri Amarnath told TOI, “Raju’s son Vinay had then filed a complaint accusing his neighbour of murdering his father. However, during probe, the police didn’t find any evidence against the neighbour. The police then got Vinay to confess his crime by questioning him in a strict manner.” “Vinay told investigators that he was angry with his father as he had sold two biswa of land without informing him. He also shared that Raju did not give a single penny of the sold land to him or his mother. Therefore, furious, he strangled him to death on the night of April 29” the ACP added. tnn
