Mother of 3 killed by jilted lover in Rajkot district

RAJKOT: A 40-year-old mother of three children was stabbed to death in a one-sided love by a man in the Virpur town of Rajkot district.
The woman, Kanchan Vaghela, had come in contact with the accused Naran Haliya seven years ago when she was living in Jetpur and they used to talk frequently. However, he husband strongly disapproved of her talking to Haliya and she severed all contact with him.
Haliya, however, kept pressuring her to keep a relationship with him. On Tuesday evening, he again stalked Kanchan and started goading her to revive their relationship. When she flatly refused, Haliya flew into a rage and repeatedly stabbed her in the chest, head, neck, and hands after cornering her at an isolated spot.
Some people rushed her to a government hospital where she died during treatment.
