BHUBANESWAR: Three civil society organisations have urged the state government to include more households under the Mo Upakari Bagicha or nutri-garden scheme, which is aimed at addressing the issues of food security and malnutrition.
In a memorandum to the government, the Odisha Shramajeebee Manch,
Mahalia Sharamajeebee Manch and Aatmashakti Trust requested the inclusion of at least 15 lakh households under the scheme, which currently covers 8 lakh households.
"Those who have created nutri-gardens have given a positive response and now they are now demanding more seeds," convener of Odisha Shramajeebee Manch, Anjan Pradhan, said. The three CSOs did a survey on demand for nutri-gardens in Kandhamal in January.
