The Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) for technical colleges has made changes in its standard operating procedure for fixing new fee structures for the next three-year cycle beginning from the 2023-24 academic year.
The committee had invited the suggestions from administrations of technical colleges and based on these suggestions the changes have been made, FRC said in a statement on Wednesday.
The five changes made in the SOP include a clarification that the committee will not consider any expenditures and other expenditures. Colleges’ additional incomes will be deducted from their expenditures. The revised SOP includes the method of calculating cost per student and which non-financial factors will be considered for fixing growth and development premiums during the committee’s inspection of the colleges.
The committee has asked colleges to cross-check the notional base fee structure for the 2022-23 academic year on the committee’s official portal and contact the committee if they require any clarifications.
