Mishap sparked stone pelting

Vadodara: The city police booked people from two groups for resorting to violence and stone pelting in the communally sensitive Panigate area late on Tuesday night. The incident occurred over a minor accident that led to heated arguments between the groups.
According to the complaint filed by Abdul Mansuri, when he was passing from Ranawas Mohalla on a bike two people, Ravi Kahar and Ashish Rana, were standing on the road. He honked they were blocking the road but they didn’t move aside and instead began abusing him and his companions.
Soon, people from both communities gathered and clashes erupted. Mansuri said he was attacked by some sharp object by the accused and had to be admitted to the hospital.
Kahar too filed a complaint against Mansuri and others for picking up a fight against him. He said that Mansuri was driving the bike rashly and he had just asked him to be careful.
The police reached the spot and took control of the situation within a few minutes.
