PATNA: Three roadside vendors were killed and one was injured when a sand-laden truck ploughed into a market and mowed them down on NH-102 (Muzaffarpur-Chhapra main road) at Rewa Ghat under the Saraiya police station in Muzaffarpur district around 6.30am on Wednesday.
The victims were identified as Akash Kumar, Mahfuz Alam and Neeraj Kumar. The injured person, Javed Alam, was admitted to a local hospital in a critical condition.
According to police, the truck driver lost control over the vehicle and it rammed into a "mandi" where the vendors were selling fruits. The driver, however, managed to escape after the accident.
