Trader shot at, looted of ₹5 lakh cash in Chakeri

Kanpur:An iron & steel trader, Sanjay Gaud, was shot at and injured after being deprived of cash worth Rs 5 lakh near Shiv Katra turn under the Chakeri police station on Wednesday evening. Gaud has been admitted to a city hospital.
According to police sources, Sanjay Gaud was on way when the criminals intercepted him and reportedly snatched a bag containing Rs 5 lakh.
Later, the criminals fired at him. “He has been admitted to the hospital,” claimed a police officer posted in Chakeri police station.
He added, a massive checking drive is underway to make the arrest of the robbers possible.
