NCPCR unhappy with Dhanbad remand home
Dhanbad: A member of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) found several irregularities at Dhanbad remand home for juveniles and expressed anguish over its state of affairs.
After visiting the remand home on Wednesday morning, Divya Gupta said that she was not happy with the condition of the remand home and she would submit a detailed report to the Dhanbad deputy commissioner (DC)and the senior superintendent of police (SSP) along with the authorities concerned of the state government for taking remedial steps.
“The staff are either ignorant about their responsibilities and duties or insensitive towards the rights of the children kept in the remand home. It’s right that they are here for committing some crime but that does not mean that the condition they are kept in will not be conducive,” she said.
