BJP leader Vasundhara Raje hit out at Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for his remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that neither the Gandhi family nor his MLAs listen to him.

BJP leader Vasundhara Raje hit back at Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot over his remarks on PM Narendra Tuesday. In a tweet on Monday, Gehlot had said PM Modi should have refrained from criticising the previous governments at a recent event in Rajasthan's Nathdwara.

The former Rajasthan Chief Minister took to Twitter to strongly criticize Gehlot, she wrote, "The truth is that neither the Gandhi family nor their MLAs are listening to Gehlot ji. Afraid of the impending defeat, Gehlot is saying anything to appear in the eyes of Rahul Gandhi, while the records of development set by Modi ji are neither past nor future".

The BJP stalwart also took a jibe at the strained relationship between Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot. Relations between the two leaders hit a fresh low after Pilot took strong objection to Gehlot's remarks that Vasundhara Raje helped save the latter's government in 2020. Pilot is currently taking out a 125 km “Jan Sangharsh Yatra" in five days to raise issues of corruption and paper leaks in Rajasthan.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot took offence when the Prime Minister criticised the previous governments in his presence at a recent function. In a tweet, the Rajasthan Chief Minister wrote, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji should have refrained from criticizing the previous governments by making political statements in my presence as the Chief Minister of the state at Nathdwara's official function today. Modiji said that why the railway line, electricity line and medical college were not opened earlier? Probably Modi ji forgot that the kind of well-groomed country he got, he got it after 67 years of development after independence. This country was not built in a day"

“The meaning of today's Modiji's speech was as if a 21-year-old youth who was in the job should be told why you didn't join the job 20 years ago. I would like to appeal to Mr. Narendra Modi that as a Prime Minister, instead of insulting your predecessors in government programs, you should thank them because they handed over such a country to Modiji, due to which he is able to represent the country in the world today." Gehlot added

Taking a dig at previous governments, PM Modi said on 10 May that there would have been no shortage of doctors in the country if previous governments had built enough medical colleges. The Prime Minister added that there would have been no need for the Jal Jeevan Mission if every household had received water under previous dispensations.
