"This story's idea came to be during the COVID-19 pandemic. The malayalam movie "Hero" served as inspiration, while "Custody" would also features commercial elements to appeal to telugu and tamil viewers. The plan was to tell the tale of a typical constable who had lofty goals. I had an image of naga chaitanya in the right character while watching the movie "Love Story" because I had seen him perform in one of the song's lyrics. When I told him the story, he loved it so much that the movie got made, according to venkat Prabhu, who was speaking about the project's origins.

Speaking on the movie, he stated, "'Custody' provides an edge-of-your-seat thriller from the pre-interval through the climax. This movie has been specifically designed to appeal to telugu and tamil viewers. Since the topic is universal, everyone will be able to enjoy it. The fast-paced plot of the screenplay keeps audiences interested the entire time. Arvind Swami will benefit the movie, he continues. "Aravind Swami was selected with the intention of playing a character who appears to be more powerful than Chaitu on screen.
