Angul: The leg of a female elephant got stuck between two trees in Krishnachandragarh reserve forest near Bruti village in Angul forest division around 3 am on Tuesday.
She could be rescued by forest personnel only around noon, after a JCB machine was used to cut the tree. The rescue operation was supervised by DFO (Angul) Vivek Kumar. The animals cries attracted the villagers, who informed the forest officials. “There was slight damage to her leg as it was stuck. She was then released into the forest,” said the DFO.
