Fire in plastic chair factory

Ranchi: A fire engulfed a plastic chair factory at Hutup under Ormanjhi police station area in Ranchi on Tuesday around 12:30 pm. State fire officer Jagjivan Ram said five fire fighting vehicles from Audrey house and Doranda fire stations brought the fire under control by evening. Short circuit caused the fire, he added.
Three held for murder
Ranchi: Three persons were arrested for killing one Anup Kumar Das and looting him while he was on way to purchase opium under Namkum police station area on May 2. The accused are Satyajit Pathak, Rajesh Lohra and Bipin Singh. A knife, Rs 1 lakh cash, and three mobile phones were recovered from the accused, SP (Rural) Naushad Alam said.
Teen dies by suicide
Jamshedpur: A 17-year-old polytechnic student died by suicide on Tuesday at the government polytechnic college hostel at Baharagora in East Singhbhum. Anurag Kumar was unwell since Monday and found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room on Tuesday.
