Apple is reportedly set to launch the iOS 16.5 to the general public in the upcoming week, featuring a handful of minor modifications. MacRumors has reported that a Twitter account, known for sharing pre-release build numbers of iOS updates, has disclosed that the forthcoming iOS 16.5 Release Candidate for developers will bear the build number 20F65.

Beta testing of iOS 16.5 has been ongoing since the end of March, and it seems to be a relatively modest software upgrade. This launch is anticipated to come prior to the unveiling of iOS 17 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

According to the report, there have been two notable updates and features revealed for the iPhone thus far. The initial addition is a Sports tab integrated into the Apple News app, enabling users to conveniently access news, scores, and schedules related to their preferred teams and leagues.

The report states that the second update empowers users to commence screen recording through Siri. By simply saying "Hey Siri, start a screen recording," users can capture a video of their iPhone's screen and instruct Siri to cease recording when they wish.

Simultaneously, Apple has introduced its initial set of "rapid security" patches that are publicly accessible. These patches are specifically crafted to tackle security vulnerabilities that are actively being exploited or pose a substantial threat to customer privacy and safety.

Apple describes these patches, known as "Rapid Security Responses," as crucial security enhancements delivered in between regular software updates.

Meanwhile, Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 16 series has been unveiled by a credible analyst in the display industry. The company is expected to make an announcement regarding its 2023 iPhones in September of this year, with the iPhone 16 range likely to be released around the same period in the following year. Here are details on the tipped features of iPhone 16 series.

Ross Young, co-founder of Display Supply Chain Consultants, has disclosed that Apple intends to modify the screen sizes of its 2024 iPhones, with the iPhone 16 Pro models sporting large displays, as per a report by MacRumors. The publication noted that the iPhone 16 Pro and Max versions are predicted to feature 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch OLED screens, respectively. This is in line with Apple's recent practice of employing OLED displays in its devices.
