Couple killed in road accident

Prayagraj: A couple died in a road mishap when their bike was hit by a speeding pickup van near Phaphamau bridge under the limits of Shivkuti police station on Tuesday morning.
The deceased couple has been identified as Brijesh Tripathi (48) and his wife Sangeeta (42), residents of Raibareilly. Deceased Brijesh was an ex-defence personnel. The incident, according to police, took place when the couple was on their way to their native village in Raibareilly from Naini area. Bodies have been sent for post mortem. Police have seized errant pickup van while driver managed to escape from the scene. Accident led to traffic jam the busiest phaphamau bridge on Prayagraj-Lucknow highway for hours. TNN
