Temple tower damaged in lightning strike

Erode: A temple tower was damaged in a lightning strike at Punjai Puliampatty in Erode district in the early hours of Tuesday.
M Kandasamy, 44, a local resident, said incessant rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, had been lashing the village from Monday evening.
“The Amman temple’s tower was damaged in the lightning strike. Two birds and a dog too were killed. Villagers have decided to repair the tower at the earliest,” he said.
