Gurgaon sees 17 Covid cases, positivity at 1.4%

GURGAON: The district on Tuesday recorded 17 fresh Covid cases. At present, the district's positivity rate is at 1.37%.
With the cases declining, new admissions to hospitals have also dropped. Currently, there are five active cases in hospitals and 269 people are in home isolation. On Tuesday, 1,238 samples were collected for Covid tests.
April reported 8,979 Covid cases, March had 584 cases, February saw 54 cases, while January logged only 40. Last year, December reported 46 cases, November recorded 191, and October had 613 cases. September saw 1,386 Covid infections in the city, while 10,414 and 5,695 patients were infected in August and July, respectively.
A total of 1,034 patients have died after testing Covid-positive across the city, 708 of whom had comorbidities.
Meanwhile, Haryana reported 57 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the state's count of active infections to 654 with a positivity rate of 1%. On Tuesday, the health authorities collected 6,048 samples.According to doctors, the clinical presentation remains mild in patients, and the disease is self-limiting. "The duration of illness is five to six days. Common symptoms are fever, sore or scratchy throat, body aches and fatigue," said a doctor treating Covid-19 patients in the city.
