Man shot, injured during attempted robbery in St. Anthony
A man was shot and wounded during an attempted robbery of his car keys Tuesday night in St. Anthony.
He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to St. Anthony Police.
Police were called about the shooting in the parking lot of Walgreens at Silver Lake Road and 37th Avenue at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg.
The man reported he’d just parked and was still in his vehicle when a male approached and demanded his keys. While he was trying to get them, the suspect opened the driver’s door and fired a single shot at the driver, according to police. The victim ran into Walgreens and the suspect ran away.
Police found a firearm at the scene. They are investigating and asked anyone with information to call police at 612-782-3350 or dispatch at 952-258-5321.
