Lodge FIR against ex-chief engr Ram: ED
Ranchi: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) shared its findings against former chief engineer of the rural works department Birendra Ram with the state government and recommended that a FIR should be registered against him.
Sources in the ED said the information, including the prosecution complaint against Ram, his wife Raj Kumari, father Genda Ram, and cousin Alok Ranjan, has been shared under Section 66 of the PMLA Act.
The ED had earlier claimed that during the searches conducted at Ram’s premises on February 22, it found several incriminating documents related to the collection of commission and jewelleries worth Rs 1.5 crore in lieu of allotment of tender. There were also material evidences and information related to offence of money laundering, it further claimed.
Ram played a pivotal role in managing tenders and allocation of works to private entities, the sleuths added.
