Undertrial kills self inside jail

Vadodara: A murder accused lodged in the Godhra sub-jail ended his life by hanging in the storeroom of the jail on Tuesday morning.
Pradeep alias Ashwin Chauhan was found hanging in a cloth storeroom of the jail. Chauhan used a rope to hang from a hook of the ceiling fan.
Chauhan was accused of killing Kiran Nayak, a resident of Chhabanpur in Godhra taluka. The victim was missing since April 17, 2019, and his body was found in a jungle on April 27, 2019. The autopsy revealed that he died due to a head injury inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon on his head.
The investigation led the police to Chauhan. tnn
