Jaipur: The Jaipur (rural) police on Tuesday arrested a 33-year-old man, who earlier worked as an assistant to a minister, in an alleged case trying to grab an NRI doctor’s prized land in Govindgarh.
Additional SP Dharmendra Yadav said that the Govindgarh police station’s team arrested the accused identified as Deependra Singh, a native of Jhunjhunu district.
“He was posted as an upper division clerk (UDC) of the education department,” Yadav said.
As per the police, the complainant in the case is an NRI doctor who wanted to establish a hospital in Govindgarh.
“The construction work for the hospital was underway on the land when as many as 35 accused last year barged into the property,” said an official, adding that the accused tried to illegally occupy the land and stop the construction work.
