MYSURU: On the eve of polling, Rs 50 lakh cash was seized from a farmhouse in HD Kote in Mysuru district on Tuesday.
Deputy commissioner and district election officer KV Rajendra confirmed to TOI that Rs 50 lakh has been seized from a shed in a farm in Vaddaragudi Haadi. The farm belonged to ‘Drip’ Siddanayaka.
According to sources, the money was hidden inside a M-sand mound. Using earth-moving vehicles, sand was removed and the money was recovered.
Acting on a tip-off, election officers raided the farmhouse on Tuesday night.
Returning officer Kumudha Sharath, assistant returning officer PS Mahesh, police inspector Shabbir and others subordinate officers were present, the DC said.
