Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Wednesday's session.

Sikko Industries(up 5.30%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 2.42%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 1.10%), National Fertilizer(up 0.95%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.43%) and Coromandel International(up 0.07%) stood among the top gainers.

Rama Phosphates(down 3.80%), Bohra Industries(down 3.48%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 2.11%), ZUARIAGRO(down 1.48%), Aries Agro(down 1.44%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 1.43%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 1.10%), Agro Phos(down 0.80%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 0.65%) and KRISHANA(down 0.54%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 49.15 points up at 18315.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 178.87 points at 61940.2.

IndusInd Bank(up 2.8%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.92%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.75%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.39%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.24%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.21%), Tata Motors(up 1.16%), Eicher Motors(up 1.03%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.03%) and Reliance Industries(up 0.69%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 2.12%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.34%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.89%), Infosys(down 0.59%), Larsen & Toubro(down 0.42%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.38%), Tata Steel(down 0.27%), State Bank of India(down 0.23%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.21%) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.21%) closed in the red.
