Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:25AM

Varun Beverages(up 3.20%), Heritage Foods(up 2.36%), Nakoda Group(up 2.09%), Prataap Snacks(up 1.80%), Hindustan Foods(up 1.53%), Sheetal Cool Products(up 1.22%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.19%), Vadilal Industries(up 0.92%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 0.91%) and Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.88%) were among the top gainers.

Future Consumer(down 3.85%), ADF Foods(down 2.06%), Bikaji Foods International(down 0.76%), Umang Dairies(down 0.50%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.35%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.17%) and Emami(down 0.11%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 66.4 points up at 18330.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 218.95 points at 61983.2 at around 10:25AM.

Coal India(up 2.34%), Bajaj Finserv(up 2.07%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.86%), Adani Enterprises(up 1.7%), Tata Motors(up 1.6%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.35%), Asian Paints(up 1.32%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.27%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.12%) and Tata Steel(up 1.0%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 2.03%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.89%), State Bank of India(down 0.69%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.35%), HCL Technologies(down 0.18%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.11%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.1%), Eicher Motors(down 0.09%), ITC(down 0.08%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.03%) were trading in the red.
