Gautam Budh Nagar has 100 active Covid cases now, Ghaziabad 60

NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: Gautam Budh Nagar reported nine new Covid cases on Monday with the active cases count at 100. There are eight hospitalisations and 22 patients have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad logged two new cases and has 60 active cases. A total of 11 patients recovered from the infection on Monday in the district.
The number of cases is declining after both Noida and Ghaziabad saw a peak of 197 and 124 cases, respectively in the latter half of April. "The numbers will go down further in the coming days. We are testing close to 1,500 samples daily," Dr Amit Kumar, surveillance officer, GB Nagar, said.
Noida has seen 493 Covid-related deaths since 2020 and Ghaziabad has recorded 475 such deaths in the same period.
