AHMEDABAD: Three youths stopped a 50-year-old from answering nature’s call at an open ground in Dhunadara village in Thasra taluka of Kheda, which led to mayhem. A case of rioting and attempted murder have been registered in this regard.
On Sunday evening, Bhanu Talpada waited till the sun set to attend nature’s call at an open ground in the village. However, when she reached there, she found three brothers from the village playing cricket nearby. “Bhanu asked the youths to play elsewhere, but Atul, Gautam, and Jayesh Talpada, in their 20s, refused to leave the ground. They abused her and drove her away from the spot,” said Kheda police.
Bhanu returned home and narrated the incident to her family. Her relatives decided to confront the trio’s family.
Bhanu’s nephews Vikram and Manhar, along with their nephew Dilip and cousin Parul, went to talk to Chiman, the father of the three youths. Vikram told Chiman that his sons stopped his aunt from using the ground to attend nature’s call because they wanted to play cricket there.
Chiman began abusing Vikram’s family, and later, 10 of Chiman’s family members, equipped with sticks and machetes, attacked Vikram and his family members.
Vikram, Manhar, Dilip, and Parul suffered severe wounds and were rescued by other villagers. They were admitted to Nadiad Civil, Hospital, where a medico-legal case was filed.
On Vikram’s complaint, Dakor police registered a case of attempt to murder, causing grievous hurt, unlawful assembly, and rioting against Chiman, his three sons, and six others.
