Sagar Block Disaster Management Control Room in South 24 Paraganas reviewed preparedness in view of cyclonic storm ‘Mocha’ on May 09. The cyclonic storm ‘Mocha’ is going to form over the Bay of Bengal. The low-pressure areas over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea became a well-marked low-pressure area on May 09, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a bulletin.IMD further mentioned that it might intensify into a cyclonic storm ‘Mocha’ by May 10.Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on May 09 said that people do not need to fear the cyclone as the state government is equipped to handle the situation.
