Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.37% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:19AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

IDFCBANK(up 2.1 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 1.77 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.91 per cent), Axis Bank(up 0.75 per cent) and Federal Bank(up 0.66 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Punjab National Bank(down 1.44 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.74 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.6 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(down 0.23 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.37 per cent at 43442.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 68.85 points at 18333.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 223.88 points at 61988.13.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Zomato Ltd., IDFC First Bank, PNB and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mankind Pharma, Jai Balaji Inds, Lead Reclaim and Rubber Products Ltd., Elgi Rubber Co and Mahanagar Gas hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Pashupati Cotspin, Vasa Retail & Overse, TCNS Clothing, Avalon Technologies and Lagnam Spintex hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
