Veteran SP leader’s name missing in voter’s list

Varanasi: A delegation of Samajwadi Party leaders and public representatives met the district election officials in Azamgarh on Monday after names of a large number of voters, including veteran MLA from Nizamabad Alam Badi, was found missing from the electoral rolls of urban local bodies election for Azamgarh Nagar Palika.
SP Azamgarh district unit president Hawaldar Yadav told TOI: “After getting electoral rolls, the candidates found several irregularities with names of a large number of genuine voters were missing.
The SP cadres also found that the name of Alam Badi missing from the list of Matbarganj area. Upset over it, former UP minister Durga Prasad Yadav, MLA Nafis Ahmed and other leaders met the district election officers.”
Yadav said strong objection was raised over deletion of the name of veteran MLA.
