Suspended Assam cadre IAS officer Sewali Devi Sharma arrested in Rs 105 crore corruption case

A suspended Assam cadre IAS officer Sewali Devi Sharma was arrested from Ajmer. Assam Police traced Sharma’s location to a hotel and arrested her with two others. A 1992-cadre IAS officer, Sewali Devi Sharma is suspected to have swindled about Rs 105 crore from State Council of Educational Research and Training where she was director. Six more persons, including Assam Congress leader Rajesh Joshi, have also been arrested in case. Along with Sharma, her contractor son-in-law Ajit Pal Singh and another person Rahul Amin were also arrested.
