Tempur Sealy International has agreed to buy Mattress Firm Group in a $4 billion deal after two years of discussions between the bedding manufacturer and retailer.

The transaction would significantly boost Tempur Sealy’s sales at a time when inflated costs for materials, logistics and labor have weighed on the industry and pandemic-era home improvement spending has waned.
