Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.59% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:51AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

LTIMindtree Ltd(up 2.79 per cent), L&T Technology(up 1.85 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 1.54 per cent), Coforge(up 1.04 per cent) and MPhasis(up 0.68 per cent) were among the top gainers.

HCL Technologies(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.59 per cent at 28085.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 68.65 points at 18333.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 217.61 points at 61981.86.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., IDFC First Bank, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mankind Pharma, Jai Balaji Inds, Mahanagar Gas, Firstsource and Bharat Bijlee hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Pashupati Cotspin, Vasa Retail & Overse, TCNS Clothing, Avalon Technologies and Lagnam Spintex hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
