LUDHIANA: Punjab director general of police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday said the terror angle in two blasts at Heritage Street near Golden Temple in Amritsar could not be ruled out.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and National Security Guard (NSG) have also initiated a probe into the case.
After twin blasts in Amritsar on May 6 and May 8, the Punjab police on Tuesday launched 'operation vigil' under which cordon & search operations have been conducted at all different districts. One such operation at Ludhiana's interstate bus terminal was supervised by the DGP Yadav on Tuesday.
The DGP said that the terror angle behind these blasts could not be ruled out. Further things could be ascertained only after investigation. NIA and NSG were also at work to probe the case.
He added that cordon & search operations in public places would often be conducted, besides regular checkposts across the state to nab anti-social elements.
