Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.56% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:27AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 4.05 per cent), Tata Motors(up 3.06 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.13 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 2.0 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(up 1.87 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 0.63 per cent) and MRF(down 0.57 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 1.56 per cent at 13554.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 162.15 points at 18231.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 593.19 points at 61647.48.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Zomato Ltd., Rail Vikas Nigam, Suzlon Energy and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Inox Wind Energy Ltd., Jai Balaji Inds, HSIL, Lokesh Machines and Kirloskar Elec hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rajvir Ind, Virinchi, Aditya Birla Retail, Sadhana Nitro and Avalon Technologies hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
