Three juveniles — two 13-year-olds and a 12-year-old — were arrested in Hamden on Sunday while fleeing the scene where two of them had just crashed two stolen cars, according to police.
Police responded to Spring Garden Street at about 6:02 a.m. after receiving the report that suspects in two suspicious vehicles appeared to be breaking into parked cars, according to the Hamden Police Department.
Police responded and spotted a 2015 Hyundai Tucson and a 2000 Kia Forte being driven recklessly in the area before both vehicles crashed into parked cars on Elihu Street, Hamden police said. Three suspects got out of the cars — which were later discovered to have been reported as stolen — and fled the area before they were apprehended shortly thereafter, according to police.
The three juveniles were charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle and interfering with police.
