Niranjan road under bridgeto be closed from May 9
Prayagraj: With district authorities giving approval to close both ways of road under bridge no 38 (Niranjan bridge) near Suraj Kund police outpost for 100 days from May 9, authorities of district traffic police are chalking out plans to regulate the traffic.
Senior Public relation officer (NCR) Amit Malviya told TOI, “After the approval of District Magistrate, Prayagraj, both ways of road under bridge no 38 (Niranjan bridge) near Suraj Kund police outpost will remain closed temporarily from May 9 for 100 days. The railway authorities will be taking up the widening of Niranjan road under bridge work (popularly known as Niranjan bridge) from May 9”.
As Niranjan road under bridge connects old city with civil lines and thousands of road users commute daily, the authorities of traffic police have too geared up to tackle the rush. Traffic police authorities claimed, “Once the work at Niranjan road under bridge begins, traffic would be diverted through other bridges including Khushrobagh railway over bridge, Rambagh rail over bridge, and CMP rail under bridge to connect old city with Civil Lines. A traffic police official said, “Traffic police authorities are chalking out plans to streamline traffic once the commuting on busiest Niranjan bridge stops. Adequate number of traffic policemen and home guards will be deployed at three other bridges to check traffic congestion and jam like situation”. Railways had taken block on Niranjan bridge in 2016 when girders were placed at same bridge.
