Manipur violence: 20,000 people evacuated, around 10,000 still remain stranded, informs CM N Biren Singh

During a Press Conference on May 8 over the violence which took place in the state on May 3, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on May 8 informed that as of now 20,000 stranded people have been evacuated and nearly 10,000 people still remain stranded. He also mentioned that Home Minister Amit Shah has been monitoring the situation after the incident took place. He said, “Till now, 20,000 stranded persons have been evacuated. Around 10,000 people remain stranded. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been monitoring the situation from the day of the incident till today. He has sent many companies of Central forces.” He added, “All those persons stranded at different locations in Manipur are being provided best possible care and support in safe locations and shelter camps.”
