Goa pradesh Congress committee (GPCC) has filed a police complaint against the Karnataka BJP candidate Manikanta Rathod for alleged plot to kill the AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and his family.

The complaint has been filed at the Panaji police station and a copy has also been submitted to the Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh.

“The ‘murder plot’ is very clear from the audio recording of BJP candidate from Chittapur, Manikanta Rathod, who also happens to be the ‘blue eyed boy’ of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai,” said Congress media cell chairman Amarnath Panjikar.

“We have demanded to immediately file a FIR and conduct a probe of the audio of the Karnataka BJP candidate from Chittapur constituency Manikanta Rathod revealing ‘sinister and ugly plot’”, said GPCC president Amit Patkar. Also present were captain Viriato Fernandes, Vijai Bhike, mahila Congress president Beena Naik, NSUI president Naushad Choudhary and others.

Rathod is in the fray against Mallikarjun Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge from the Chittapur constituency. The Karnataka legislative assembly election to elect 224 members is scheduled on May 10.
