Engineering student from Andhra Pradesh found dead in Chennai

CHENNAI: A body of an engineering student was found from the forest area near Mamallapuram a few days ago. Police have identified the deceased as Naveen Malligarjuna, a student from Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh.
According to police, the student ended his life by immolating self. Inquiries with his parents revealed that Malligarjuna had informed about his plans to visit many temples in north India. However, when he could not execute his plan, he decied to visit the Bhavani Amman temple in Erode. On April 14, he left his home on his bike and visited Erode before proceeding towards Mamallapuram. Malligarjuna’s parents spoke to him last week after which his mobile phone was turned off, and he was not reachable. Later, the Mamallapuram police informed Malligarjuna’s parents about his death. The police personnel handed over his body to his parents after performing an autopsy on Saturday.
Further investigations are being conducted in the case.
