NCA continues its dominance, wins U-14 title
Nagpur: Nagpur Cricket Academy (NCA) lived upto its reputation of being one of the most formidable outfits in the city. In the Shree Sports U-14 tournament final NCA thrashed Dr Ambedkar College Sports Academy (DACSA) by 46 runs at in Yerla on Sunday. It is NCA’s 12th title of the season across age groups, informed a club official.
NCA’s title win was scripted on the back of some useful contributions from skipper Aryan Rathod (57 off 62b), Rajveer Bodne (22 runs & 3 wickets) and Divyansh Sahurkar’s 3 wickets.
NCA managed 190 for 7 in 40 overs after DACSA put them into bat. Aryan scored majority of the runs, while Anmol Dwivedi made 35. In reply, DACSA were bundled out for 144 in 35.2 overs. Rajveer was adjudged man of the match for his allround show.
NCA’s skipper Rathod won the best batsman award, while Divyansh Shahurkar was among the best bowlers in the tournament.
Mansi shines as Team-B win women’s league
Promising allrounder Mansi Pande (58 off 50b & 17 for 5) and wicketkeeper Raveen Singh (50 off 69b) helped Team-B thump Team-E in the final of VCA women’s one-day league on Sunday. They recorded convincing victory by 109 runs at LAD College ground.
Batting first, Team-B batted brilliantly to notch-up handsome 219 for 6 in 35 overs. Mansi, who hit 10 boundaries and a six, gave the perfect late push. Raveen and Mansi added 94 runs runs for the fourth wicket in 91 balls. In reply, Team-E was bundled out for 110 in 30.4 overs. Riya Baniya unbeaten 49. Mansi ran through the Team-E innings. Mansi was declared the player of the match for her allrounder performance.
Brief scores: Team-B 219 for 6 in 35 overs (Mansi Pande 58, Raveena Singh 50, Snehal Maniyar 40; Rashmi Singh 2-22) beat Team-E 110 all out in 30.4 overs (Riya Baniya 49 n.o.; Mansi Pande 5/17) by 109 runs.
