AHMEDABAD: A 24-year-old man from the Ambawadi area of the city on Saturday filed a complaint with the Ellisbridge police alleging that his friend attacked him first as he refused to pay him money to buy liquor. Later, his father and cousin attacked and slashed him.
Jagdish Makwana, a resident of Rajivnagar in Ambawadi, said that he was sitting near a pan shop on Friday night when a man named Avinash Chauhan, a resident of Ambedkar colony in Ambawadi, came to him and demanded money to buy liquor.
Makwana refused to give him any money after which Avinash began beating him. After a while, Avinash’ father Amrat came to Makwana with Avinash’s cousin Prakash Chauhan and they again began fighting with Makwana. He said in the FIR that they first beat him badly and later Prakash took out a knife with which he slashed Makwana’s forehead.
Makwana was taken to Civil Hospital in Asarwa where a medico-legal case was filed. Ellisbridge police have registered a case of causing grievous hurt, using abusive words and abetment against Avinash, Amrat and Prakash.
