AHMEDABAD: A 58-year-old woman from the Chandkheda area of the city on Saturday filed a complaint with Chandkheda police alleging that four members of a family — her neighbours — attacked her with a hammer and threatened to kill her over a dispute about their pet dog.
Lakshmi Parmar, a resident of Vishnunagar society in Chandkheda, said in her FIR that her neighbour Neelesh Shrimali had a habit of drinking and he and Parmar had often had fights over this. Recently, Neelesh and his family members bought a pet dog and Parmar’s family again had quarrels with Shreemali family over constant barking of the dog, and its habit of relieving itself in front of Parmar’s house.
Parmar said that he raised this issue before Shrimali family but rather than sorting this out, Neelesh and his family members threatened Parmar.
On Friday evening, Neelesh began abusing Parmar and threatened her for raising the pet issue repeatedly. When Parmar objected to it, Neelesh and her three other family members began thrashing Parmar.
She alleged that Neelesh had a hammer in his house with which he injured Parmar.
She alleged that Neelesh and her family members threatened to kill her family members and implicate them in some false legal case.
Chandkheda police registered a complaint against Neelesh and his three family members and began an investigation.
City has been reporting various cases where neighbours fought over pet dogs.
