Days after its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unidentified miscreants allegedly pelted stones at the Vande Bharat Express train in Kerala's Kannur. The incident occurred when the Vande Bharat Express train was passing through the Valapattanam area of the district in north Kerala and the railway officials noticed scratches, allegedly due to stone pelting.

Upon suspecting that the train had been hit by stones while passing through Valapattanam, the railway officials promptly informed the police. While the police could not confirm that the incident took place specifically in Valapattanam, they have initiated an inquiry and implemented precautionary measures to avoid such occurrences.

This is the second such incident against the same Vande Bharat Express train. Last week, some unidentified miscreants allegedly pelted stones at the train while it was passing through an area between Thirunavaya and Tirur in Malappuram district.

PM Modi flagged off Kerala's first Vande Bharat Express train on 25 April from Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station. The Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express operates on all days with the exception of Thursday.

The Vande Bharat Express train runs between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasargod, covering 11 districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod.

The Vande Bharat Express is a modern train that is changing the way people travel in India. It is designed to connect many large and small cities throughout the country. Additionally, these trains are made in India, aligning with the Prime Minister's "Make in India" initiative. Currently, they are being manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory located in Chennai.

The government is planning to expand the manufacturing facility of the Vande Bharat Express train to several locations like Latur in Maharashtra, Rae Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh and Sonipat in Haryana.
