TN Class 12 results: Girls outdo boys in Chennai Corporation schools

CHENNAI: Girl students in Chennai Corporation schools outdid boys in the Class XII state board exams with 91.5% pass percentage against boys’ 81.07% pass percentage.
Out of the 5,899 students who attended the exams, 2,626 were boys and 3,273 were girls. As many as 2,995 girls and 2,129 boys passed. A total of 86.86 % students passed the exams this year, which is about 0.39% higher than last year.
A total of 71 centums were scored with the highest centum of 25 in accountancy followed by 20 in commerce. As many as 42 students scored 99% marks.
Corporation school in Kodambakkam's Puliyur secured 100% pass percentage. N Gayathri, who studied in the corporation school on the M H Road in Perambur, got the highest marks among corporation school students. She scored 592 out of 600 marks.
